Holy Bible, compass, and crucifix on a Europe map spread over a rustic wooden table

“The disciples approached Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?” He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me. “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.” —Matthew 18:1-5,10

I feel the Lord holding my soul in His right hand, and if He had a physical presence, God would stand behind my left shoulder. I also have felt the presence of my Guardian Angel, and in the same way, he would stand behind my right shoulder. The more I learn about the mysteries of God, the more I realize I am but a little child, and Jesus told us that every child has an angel linking them to the Father. Perhaps the angel’s mission is to help us finally have total and utter childlike faith, trust, and dependence in the Lord.

“Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen. Guardian angel, pray for me.”
