Holy Bible, compass, and crucifix on a Europe map spread over a rustic wooden table

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how many times I yearned to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were unwilling! Behold, your house will be abandoned. But I tell you, you will not see me until the time comes when you say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” —Luke 13:34-35

The Lord has blessed me that I may feel His heart and the heart of His mother. An ever-present ache in my soul stems from this connection. Oh, how their hearts burn with desire for the children of God. The Lord Jesus aches, ‘They have forgotten what I have done for them.’ Mary’s heart aches, ‘They have forgotten what my Son has done for them.’

It isn’t that Christ needs our admiration; it is that the salvation of our souls hinges on living our lives in accord with His Birth, Life, Death, and Resurrection. Jesus’ and Mary’s hearts ache beyond all human comprehension when even one soul turns away from the salvation of Christ.
