Holy Bible, compass, and crucifix on a Europe map spread over a rustic wooden table

“Jesus’ father and mother were amazed at what was said about him; and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted and you yourself a sword will pierce so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”Luke 2-33-35

Mary stood at the foot of her Son’s cross, and her heart screamed in agony, ‘Look at what they have done to Him!’ She was there from His Conception to His Ascension, and every moment in between, sharing in every joy and every agony of her Son, Jesus.

After Pentecost, Mary worked and watched the world fall in love with her Son, Jesus, the Only Begotten Son of the Father. Yet through the eons, a slow ache has grown in the heart of the Blessed Mother, and in the heart of her Beloved Son. As I meditate, I feel the pain, indistinguishable from each other: ‘They have forgotten what He has done for them,’ says the mother. ‘They have forgotten what I have done for them,’ says the Lord.

They ask you and me to remind the world and ease their sorrow.
