In Dependence

I would like to wish you a blessed and happy Independence Day, for we are truly blessed to live in this great nation. This holiday commemorates our country’s Declaration of Independence from the tyranny of the world and our reliance on self-governance.

“Justice exalts a nation, but sin is a people’s disgrace.” –Proverbs 14:34

This fourth, as I celebrate my favorite secular holiday, I’m going to try and begin living my life “In Dependence”. In dependence on the Lord for every moment and every breath. In dependence on Him to lead me where He wants me to be. I will strive to rely on Him rather than me.

“For I am the Lord your God. I take you by the hand, and I say to you: Do not be afraid. I have helped you.” -Isaiah 41:13

This year as we celebrate the independence of our nation, let’s take a moment to also celebrate our “in dependence” and reliance on God.
