Holy Bible, compass, and crucifix on a Europe map spread over a rustic wooden table

“As Jesus was teaching in the temple area he said, “How do the scribes claim that the Christ is the son of David? David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said: The Lord said to my lord, ‘Sit at my right hand until I place your enemies under your feet.’ David himself calls him ‘lord’; so how is he his son?” The great crowd heard this with delight.” —Mark 12:35-37

When I was in the presence of the Lord, I was given the beatific vision. I knew and understood all the mysteries of our faith, and was struck by the simplicity of all those things we struggle so hard to understand. I remembered thinking, ‘It is all so simple, even a three-year-old could understand.’

One day, in the presence of God, each of our intellects will be elevated to match the Lord’s. All things will be made simple. Until then, we wait, with complete trust in the Lord, who, in His perfection, has laid a path for us, leading back to Him.
