Jesus said to his disciples: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard me tell you, 'I am going away and I will come back to you.' If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me, but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me." -John 14:27-31
The ruler of this world has ensured he has no peace to give. He provides the world with only chaos, confusion, and discord. True peace can only come from God. If you feel His peace, rejoice, knowing it is a gift from Christ. If you don’t, it only takes faith to trust in Jesus’ promise: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.”
When chaos rages around you, and your heart becomes troubled or afraid, take ease knowing Christ is with you. The ruler of this world wishes to strike fear in our hearts, but we must decide whether to accept the peace of God’s touch or the lies of the enemy. Choose wisely, and trust in the Lord. Close your eyes and meditate that God holds your soul in His unmovable hand. He gives us His peace and keeps the chaos from entering if we accept His touch.
