“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” -John 3:16-17
I’ve heard this verse repeated my whole life, but have I ever really contemplated what it says? Because of our limited human intellect, without divine revelation, we will never truly understand the Holy Trinity. And although I was blessed to have been given a glimpse of the Holy Spirit, I still lack that understanding, but this is what I know:
The God that created the universe, and everything in it, including you and me, loves us in a way and to a degree that is beyond all comprehension. The God who needs nothing and is the wellspring of everything that is and ever was, sent His only Son down to us, to remedy the damaged relationship we caused by accepting sin. He, the Lord of the Universe, sacrificed Himself because of His unfathomable Love for His children. And, It is only through Christ the living Sacrifice, that we can return to the Kingdom of the Holy Trinity.
