“Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.” -John 21:19-25-27
At the Wedding at Cana, our Holy Mother Mary interceded for the newly wedded couple and asked Jesus to give His first public miracle. At the foot of the Cross, Christ gave His mother to all of us. The original Greek phrase, “took her into his home”, translates to, “took her into his inner being.” By taking the Holy Mother into ourselves, we gain a loving interceder to Christ.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee. Blessed art Thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
