“Jesus said to Nicodemus: “No one has gone up to heaven except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” -John 3:13-17 Today, I reflect on the first anniversary of my walking pilgrimage. On this journey, the Lord revealed to me the true meaning of the Triumph of the Cross and what it means for each one of us.
Christ showed me what it is to touch the new Tree of Life, eat of its Fruit, and be washed clean in the Blood of Christ. He let me experience the vast spiritual pain He suffered in His Passion and submerged me in an ocean of His mercy. To be washed in the Blood of Christ takes a tremendous toll on both Christ and ourselves. Today is the day to make changes in our lives, deny ourselves, pick up our crosses, and follow Jesus.
