“As Jesus passed by, two blind men followed him, crying out, “Son of David, have pity on us!” When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they said to him. Then he touched their eyes and said, “Let it be done for you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” But they went out and spread word of him through all that land.” -Matthew 9:27-31
We live in two worlds that overlap each other. One is the physical world we are all aware of, and the other is the mystical world that can be harder to see. We view this world with the eyes of our body, while we view the other through the eyes of our soul.
Sometimes, it isn't easy to see the other world, and we rely only on faith to know it surrounds us. Today, when you meditate on your journey with the Holy Family to Bethlehem, speak to Jesus, being carried in the living ark. Have faith to say to Him, “Son of David, have pity on me; I believe you can allow my soul to see.”
Saint Nicholas, pray for us.
