Jesus said to his disciples: "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. "Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.” -Luke 6:36-38
When we focus profoundly on the Lord and gaze adoringly upon Him, He allows us to change. God touches us and opens us as if breaking open a rusty spout. We begin to pour out into Him, yet simultaneously, He pours into us through that same spout.
Soon, His presence in us empties us of ourselves. All that is left in us is Him. When we see others around us, we want them to experience the same gifts God has given us.
Do not be afraid to give away the gifts God has given you to those in need. Freely open that once rusty valve, allowing His goodness to flow from your reservoir out into the world. The wider you open your spigot, the more that pours out, and the more God will replenish your tank, even until overflowing.
