“He said to them, “Are even you likewise without understanding? Do you not realize that everything that goes into a person from outside cannot defile, since it enters not the heart but the stomach and passes out into the latrine?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) “But what comes out of the man, that is what defiles him. From within the man, from his heart, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly. All these evils come from within and they defile.” -Mark 7:18-23
The Father holds each soul in the impenetrable grip of His mighty hand and protects us from evil from entering through the sides and rear. If evil is to enter, it comes through the front, but only after the soul invites it in.
If a soul pushes God out, evil fills the void, and then the excess of that evil pours out into the world. But when God resides within a soul, evil flees because it cannot stand to be in God's light. Everything issuing out from that soul is the excess of God's goodness poured into it.
Invite Christ to live within you, and let God’s superabundance flow from you. Invite the light in, and watch the darkness flee. Let only God’s graces flow from your heart into the world.
