“Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God. Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love. In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only-begotten Son into the world so that we might have life through him. In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.” -1 John 4:7-10
No other emotion has the same power and effect to do good as love, nor does the lack of any other emotion cause more harm in its absence.
If God could be described in only one word, that word would be love. He made us in His image, so strive to be defined similarly. He gives us limited days on this earth; we haven’t time to waste. There will come a day when He calls each one to Himself. On that day, we will be reminded we were created in His image, and God will look upon us through our works.
If we withhold love as He intended in this world, will He see Himself in us in the next? Ask yourself, do you give love as God intended? No matter your answer, increase the love you give to others.
Merry Christmas!
