Daily Inspiration

“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung round his neck and he were thrown into the sea.  And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire.  And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell.  And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.” -Mark 9:42-48
 
The enemy has coerced some to lead others into sin, and he places distractions on the path of the righteous. But God is always there, waiting for us to turn away from the enemy's false glitter, throw away the darkness, and open our hearts to be filled with His light.
 
“We become that upon which we gaze.” If we spend our time and focus on the things of the enemy, we become like him. Therefore, we should look only to the Lord, always fixing our eyes on Him.  
 
The more we look upon Christ, the easier it becomes to cut away the trappings of this world without any sense of loss. We discover that God has already blessed us with everything we could ever want or need, and it is Him.
