Daily Inspiration

“The mother of Jesus and his brothers came to him but were unable to join him because of the crowd. He was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside and they wish to see you.” He said to them in reply, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it.” -Luke 8:16-18
 
Jesus invites us into His family, but there is a condition to His invitation. It isn’t only that we must hear the Word; we must listen to Him from within our soul. Once we hear Him in our hearts, it is not possible to refrain from acting out, reaching out to our neighbors to share His message.
 
How blessed are those who hear the Word and whose souls are moved into action? Truly, they are welcomed as mothers and brothers to Christ.
