Jesus said to his Apostles: “Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves. But beware of men, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues, and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake as a witness before them and the pagans. When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say. For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; children will rise up against parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in one town, flee to another. Amen, I say to you, you will not finish the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.” -Matthew 10:16-23
I am not a writer, yet I write. I am not a speaker, yet I speak. If the words you hear are inspiring, know that they do not come from me but are inspired by the Holy Spirit.
I’m always surprised when the Holy Spirit places words in the mouth of a sinner such as me. While I do not understand why, I know when it started. There came a point when I decided I did not care if I lost my friends or family. I did not care if I was fired from my job. It didn’t matter if others thought I was crazy. All I knew was people needed to hear about God’s miracles.
When I finally decided to speak, I opened my mouth and was shocked to hear the words that flowed out. God blessed me so I did not lose even one of the things I was so concerned about. Our Lord waits for each of us to throw caution to the wind, to trust in Him, and to speak His Truth. Every day is the perfect day to talk about Christ, and to let the Spirit of the Father speak through you.
