“Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces. “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the Law and the Prophets. “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.” -Matthew 7:6, 12-14
I spent most of my life believing that living by the world's standards would get me into heaven. Indeed, I was walking on that wide and smooth road to destruction.
I was not judged by the world’s standards; I was judged by God’s. I failed to live by His law. I saw myself in Truth through His eyes and judged myself unworthy.
I was allowed to return to this place and given a second chance to warn my brothers. Christ tells us the road to life is narrow, and few find it, but He left us ample markers to help us find the Way. We need to look past that wide road to see the trail He has made for us.
