“In the days when Christ Jesus was in the flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered; and when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.” -Hebrews 5:7-9
How often do I cry out loudly in prayer to the Father? Do I pour my soul out for Him, emptying myself, becoming vulnerable and exposed, trusting only in His mercy? Do I see my suffering as a gift my Master uses to form my will into His?
Jesus showed us the way; He is our Salvation. To obey Christ is to go where He went and do what He did in every trial we face. Obedience and humility are Christ’s path to the Father.
“Whoever serves me must follow me, says the Lord; and where I am, there also will my servant be.” -John 12:26
