“As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee. As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him. They stood at a distance from him and raised their voice, saying, "Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!" And when he saw them, he said, "Go show yourselves to the priests." As they were going they were cleansed. And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said in reply, "Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?" Then he said to him, "Stand up and go; your faith has saved you." -Luke 17:11-19
Jesus has pity on every one of us. Every keystroke I make, breath I take, step I tread, and day I live, is a grace from God, who healed me. Nine out of ten took for granted the healing Jesus granted them, and still, 2,000 years later, nothing has changed. Most take for granted all the goodness that God showers upon them. We then, are to be an example for the many, to give thanks to God for all He has done for us, and to remind them that with faith even the size of a mustard seed, all things are possible, with God.
Heavenly Father, increase our faith in You, so that our faith may become a beacon to others. May our faith shine bright enough, so that when Jesus, Your Son, returns, He will find faith, burning throughout all the world. Amen.
