Daily Inspiration

“The seventy-two disciples returned rejoicing and said to Jesus, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name." Jesus said, "I have observed Satan fall like lightning from the sky. Behold, I have given you the power 'to tread upon serpents' and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven." -Luke 10:17-20

The enemy lies to us and tells us he is powerful, but he is nothing compared to the power of God. Just consider the way in which he was expelled from Heaven. He did not go fighting, kicking, screaming, or putting up a resistance. He was thrust out with the same speed and power of a lightning bolt. He never had a chance, because nothing can stand in defiance of God’s Power. There is no battle between God and the enemy, for nothing in all of creation can defeat the power of God. The fight now lies between God’s adopted children and the defeated enemy of Heaven. Have faith, that with God and His angels and saints standing with us, we shall not fear the battle. We must keep our mind, body, and soul focused on Christ, and rejoice that our names are kept with Him in Heaven.
