Daily Inspiration

“One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him, "Which is the first of all the commandments?" Jesus replied, "The first is this: Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these." -Mark 12:28-31

Place the Lord first before all else, above family, friends, work, and self. If we place God at the head of our life and offer Him our everything, all else will fall into its proper order, and our relationships will grow stronger. Notice that self comes last. If we learn to place God and His other children before ourselves, not only will our relationships with our neighbor grow stronger, but more importantly our relationship with the Lord will grow, and we will come to feel the peace of God’s love. A love and peace that is like no other.

Easier to say, than to do, but imagine if even half of the world followed these commandments from Christ. Imagine if just we did.
