“Jesus said to his disciples: “As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. “I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete.” -John 15:9-11

We love our children. Parents know the rules of the house are rules of love, and if followed they lead to success and happiness for our children, if only the rules were obeyed. Funny, as parents we understand how this works in our children’s lives, but we ignore how it works in our own. Out of love, God gives us the commandments to assure our success. If only we obeyed Him, as Jesus did. Christ never asks of us anything He has not already done.
