“When Jesus looked up he saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasury and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins. He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.” -Luke 21:1-4

Faith is a gift from God; it is given equally to each soul. But a soul who trusts in the Lord is a soul who uses that beautiful gift as God intended. What trust the poor woman must have had to give away those last two coins.

This weekend, I learned to trust in God through the many prayers of my friends. I told you I was working on a project, yet I saw no clear path to its completion. I needed a whole myriad of steps, and the timelines of friends and family from around the country to all line up perfectly; if even one were just slightly off, the weekend would have been a wash. I even needed the weather to cooperate, yet the forecast was 100% off.

This weekend, as the minutes ticked by, I saw the impossible become possible. I saw a path emerge to a purposeful completion. I saw each step fall into perfect alignment, and I saw the weather prove to be precisely as we needed. I saw the prayers of so many of my friends reach the heavenly ears of the Lord. I saw a man who sometimes struggles, even after all he has seen, turn the gift of faith into trust because of your prayers. Thank you all, and God bless you.
