Daily Inspiration

“As Jesus drew near Jerusalem, he saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace–but now it is hidden from your eyes. For the days are coming upon you when your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides. They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.” -Luke 19:1-10

Often, it is difficult to see past the end of our noses. We live life self-absorbed, focused only on ourselves or our family, all the while looking past the peace Christ offers.

We cannot see what the future holds for us, and even though your enemies may encircle you, hem you in, leaving not one stone upon another, the Lord has already seen it. He has a plan for our life, and lines the road with all the blessings we’ll need.

Christ is with you today, tomorrow, and for the rest of your days. Focus your eyes beyond the tip of your nose, and recognize the peace that Christ offers you.

(Side note) Ponder the meaning in this phrase: “They will smash you to the ground and your children within you…” The word “Within” jumped out at me. It’s an interesting preposition. I had too little time to ponder the meaning. Enjoy, and let me know what comes to you in meditation.
