“While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them,
“This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.”-LK 11:29:30
Jonah told the Ninevites to repent and turn back to the LORD. The lost sheep of our generation may have never known the LORD, and they may not know who He is, or how to turn to Him. It is left up to us, to let the Light of Christ shine through us so that they can see the LORD. We are their signposts, that may lead them to our God.
