“But now I am coming to you. I speak this in the world so that they may share my joy completely. I gave them your word, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the Evil One. They do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world. Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world. And I consecrate myself for them, so that they also may be consecrated in truth.” -John 17:13-19
Take heart in the face of adversity. You are truly blessed if the world hates you because you belong to Christ and uphold His truth. The world has fallen for the enemy's lies. Even some who sit beside us in the pews may have been blinded by the enemy's deceit. This stark contrast between the world's values and God's truth is the spiritual battle made visible.
The world wants us to believe right is wrong, black is white, man is woman, and woman cannot be defined. It is lunacy. For that is what living without God is. I lived in that eternity without God; I was driven to the edge of insanity and, at any moment, could have succumbed, never to return. But God had mercy on me.
We must remain steadfast in Truth and put blinders on our eyes. If we stay focused only on God, then the antics of the enemy will remain unnoticed. We remain in the world, and because we belong to Christ, He makes us beacons of His Truth. We must allow the light of Christ to shine through us to guide others away from sin and the enemy’s insanity.
