“The one who comes from above is above all. The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things. But the one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy. For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God. He does not ration his gift of the Spirit. The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.” -John 3:31-36
“He does not ration the gift of the Spirit.” When I was in the presence of the Holy Spirit, I saw His power reach to the edges of the universe. It did not travel but instead was already there. I felt God’s love and mercy in the same way. It came from God and was just there around me. If God's power, love, and mercy are always here, then I imagine that all of the gifts of the Spirit are also surrounding us.
God is the never-ending font of gifts. They are always here for us, but we must awaken to Our Lord, Jesus. It wasn’t until I was at my lowest point, when pain was pushing me to the edge of sanity, that I called out to Jesus as I never had before. It required an awakening on my part, a stripping away of earthly wants, before my eyes were opened and the veil lifted, that I could see the Lord and all His gifts were already here with me.
