“Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I, the LORD, your God, teach you what is for your good, and lead you on the way you should go. If you would hearken to my commandments, your prosperity would be like a river, and your vindication like the waves of the sea; Your descendants would be like the sand, and those born of your stock like its grains, Their name never cut off or blotted out from my presence.” -Isaiah 48:17-19
Our Lord has laid a path for us and given us direction and constraints for our success. But we fall prey to the lies of the enemy, to the sparkle of the world, and we chase the prosperity of the present age rather than the richness of the Kingdom.
If only we would surrender our will and adopt God’s will for us instead, our lives would flourish and exceed all earthly expectations. We must trust that God loves us more than we are capable of loving ourselves. He wants us to live with Him for all eternity, which should be our only concern.
Take the coming days to open yourself to Him, and ask Him to come and dwell within you. There is still more clutter that needs to be cleared away to make room for the New Born King.
