Friday of the Fourth Week of Easter

Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where I am going you know the way.” Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” -John 1:1-6

Have faith in the Lord, and rejoice! Christ has gone ahead and prepared a place for us in the Father’s house and will lead us there Himself. But yet, we are still troubled.

There was a time when I feared I would choose the wrong path. I understand now that no matter what career, family life, or social standing we decide to follow, the path to God is always before us. If we place God first, live to serve the Lord, obey His commands, and Love Him with all our being, we step in the direction of Our Lord.

If we take those steps and become more like Him, who taught us, we realize that no matter the direction our lives take, Christ is always with us. It isn’t that Jesus merely walks with us on the path; He has laid Himself out and smoothed the path for us. Rest easy, no matter where you are; Christ is the Truth, Life, and only way to the Father and He brings us to Himself.

He is risen! He is risen indeed. Hallelujah!
