“When the days were completed for their purification according to the law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. 

When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions of the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him.” -Luke 2:22, 39-40

While He could have come in many ways, God chose to enter into the world through a family, because He has placed great power in the family. The enemy fears a strong family because it is a weapon against evil, so he fights to divide and destroy it. Let us look to the Holy Family as the perfect example in the coming year.

May the Lord send the Holy Spirit and His angels to guide and protect our families. May the light of Christ shine brightly from within our households, may God be our shield, and may He allow our families, like His, to be a weapon against evil. Amen.
