"Jesus entered the temple area and proceeded to drive out those who were selling things, saying to them, "It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves." And every day he was teaching in the temple area. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put him to death, but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words.” -Luke 19:45-48
Today, many will scurry about, looking for the best deal while pouring themselves into purchasing material goods. The temple of their soul will hear no echo of the words of Christ today, and the only prayer they’ll offer will be to their own will, that the stores may still have what they desire.
How my heart aches for the Lord and the lost souls who forget to hang on His every word. My prayer today is that we may all remember that before there was Black Friday, there was Good Friday, when our Lord Jesus, the Christ, rushed out in the early morning hours to purchase what He desired most: the salvation of our souls.
