“Then the LORD God said: "See! The man has become like one of us, knowing what is good and what is evil! Therefore, he must not be allowed to put out his hand to take fruit from the tree of life also, and thus eat of it and live forever." The LORD God therefore banished him from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he had been taken.” -Genesis 3:22-24
The daily reading link and Scripture passage at the beginning of this Daily Inspiration are taken from the readings during the Catholic Mass that day. The first reading in today's Mass allows for another excerpt from my second book, The Triumph of the Cross. It tells of a locution given to me explaining this passage. “…Then I was told: when Christ came, God became Man, there became a new heaven, a new earth, a new Adam, a new Eve, a new Fruit of the tree, and therefore, also came a new Tree of Life, which is the Cross. While God once cast us out because of his concern we would touch the Tree of Life before we were ready, He now invites us to touch the new Tree of Life daily. It isn’t only that God wants us to touch it, but we must eat of its Fruit, Christ in the Eucharist. We must embrace the new Tree of Life daily, deny ourselves, and pick up our cross to return to Him in the Kingdom…” Sain Claude De La Colombieret, pray for us.
