“As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee. As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him. They stood at a distance from him and raised their voice, saying, “Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” And when he saw them, he said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” As they were going they were cleansed. And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said in reply, “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.” -Luke 17:11-19
Jesus, Master, have pity on me. Before the wreck, I was like a spiritual leper, covered in the scale of sin and separated from God because of those wounds, never knowing I was like a leper.
Christ had pity on me and took me to a place where He cleansed me. Through His mercy, the wounds of sin fell from my soul, and I was made clean. I must be constantly mindful, for the wound of sin lurks, waiting to take hold again. Since then, I give thanks to the Lord, for all things are possible through Him. I have shown myself to the priests and the people so they may see what God has done for me.
I am no different than any of God’s other children. What Christ has done for me, He wishes to do for you. When He heals you, give thanks, go out, and tell the world what Christ has done for you.
