Daily Inspiration

“There was a scholar of the law who stood up to test Jesus and said, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?” He said in reply, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” He replied to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.” -Luke 10:25-28
 
Again, the question by an adult is, “What do I have to do to get into heaven?” Jesus answers by saying we must love God as a small child loves his mother or father. 
 
We must have utter dependence on Him. Like children, we must know that our survival depends solely on Him caring for and providing for our every need. 
 
A child loves his mother and father because he understands without their constant care, there is no life. He receives the love they give and returns it to them. To an infant, his parents are his life. So, it also must be with us and the Lord our God.
