“Jesus said, "What is the Kingdom of God like? To what can I compare it? It is like a mustard seed that a man took and planted in the garden. When it was fully grown, it became a large bush and the birds of the sky dwelt in its branches." Again he said, "To what shall I compare the Kingdom of God? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch of dough was leavened." -Luke 13:18-21
Jesus often uses the mustard seed in His teachings. He tells us if our faith was only the size of that seed, we could move mountains. When we have faith in the Lord, and place Him at the center of our work, the Lord multiplies our efforts. He pours out His grace and makes our works greater than they would be if done on our own, like yeast rising bread. We place the seed in the ground and it grows, and we place the yeast in the dough and it rises. If we place Christ in the center of our life, we allow the Key to the Kingdom to interweave with all we do. Then, our faith, life, and works, become fuller than we could have ever imagined without Him.
