Jesus said, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men's bones and every kind of filth. Even so, on the outside you appear righteous, but inside you are filled with hypocrisy and evildoing.” Matthew 23:27-28
In today’s reading, Jesus dishes out more Truth that may be difficult for us to hear. We all have those sins that grip us and seem impossible to throw off. We hide them from the world, but they still plague our minds and place a scale on our souls that separates us from feeling God’s touch. To cast the desire for sin aside, we must invite the Lord into our souls. Commit to reading and meditating on Scripture, attend a weekday Mass when possible, and receive the sacraments often, including Reconciliation. Do things to immerse yourself in the Lord, and you will see a change. Imagine if we could look on the inside as we do on the outside. We can; with faith in Christ, all things are possible, even moving a mountain of sin.
