“Children were brought to Jesus that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them, but Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." After he placed his hands on them, he went away.” -Matthew 19:13-15
Once, while in the Garden, Adam and Eve too were like children. They walked and talked with the Lord in total innocence until they reached out and ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Ever since that moment, God has desired for us to return to Him with that same child-like innocence. Children are aware that they are, small, dependent, and vulnerable, and everything they need is given to them by a loving parent. The only thing that changes as we grow older, is that we forget those things. Once baptized, we will always be a child of God, we just need to act like one.
