June 27, 2023Jesus said to his disciples: "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few." -Matthew 7:13-14
At one time I worked feverishly to live by the world’s standards, and because I called myself a Christian, I believed that I would one day find myself in Heaven. After my car crash, I was horrified to learn that living by the world’s standards did not lead me to the Lord, but rather separated me from Him instead. God allowed me to make a choice, and although I can’t remember the exact details, I do know this Truth. Calling ourselves Christian, yet living at best as lukewarm toward Him is indeed the wide and easy road to destruction. God loves us and wants nothing more than to live with us for all eternity, but He allows us to either accept His love or reject it. That is the choice I was given, so now I strive to live by His standards, to walk the narrow road with Him, live in His love, and let my love burn for Him.
