Daily Inspiration

Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be." -Matthew 6:19-21

I spent most of my life storing treasures here on Earth. I wasted so much time focusing on the things of the here and now and never giving thought to building a life with the Lord so that one day I would spend all eternity with Him. There are things in this world that we should focus on, but they do not have the exterior shine and luster of the enemy’s cheap top coating. The Lord has placed things in this world, that at first glance are covered with dust and grime, but underneath is the true treasure of Heaven, and just one is worth more than all the riches on Earth. When we do the Lord’s work, we are storing these hidden treasures.
