Jesus said to his disciples: "You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father." -Matthew 5:13-16
My Christian friends, we must ask ourselves, are we salty for the Lord? Do we burn for Him and allow His light to shine through us into the darkness of this world? Or, do we just check a box, do the minimum we can, and expect to enter into the Kingdom? We must burn like a flame to allow His light to shine through us, and as we do, Christ replenishes us with a never-ending fuel. Be that light for all to see, burn hot for the Lord, and do more than just check a box.
“I know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.” -Revelation 3:15-16
